Funding Training with flexible 500
The “Flexible 500″ is a funding initiative announced by Skills Development Scotland allowing Scottish Businesses to invest in learning and development opportunities for their employees.
To quote form SDS: “The flexible 500 initiative will allow companies to receive up to 50% funding towards the cost of training (up to a maximum value of £500 per person). This will help improve workplace activity and help businesses through this period of economic recovery”.
Your company is eligible for flexible 500 funding if:
- You have 150 employees or less
- The business and employees participating in the training are based in Scotland
- The business is a privately run organisation (including sole traders, freelancers, voluntary and not-for-profit status)
- The link between the training and business needs can be clearly identified
- Training is undertaken within 90 days
- Businesses can apply for flexible 500 funding to pursue a wide range of learning and development opportunities – with the exception of legislative or regulatory training programmes.
- Up to 10 employees from an organisation can undertake one training course each, so up to £5000 can be available in total
The flexible 500 can be used against training opportunities including:
- Qualifications including individual units
- Masterclasses and Workshops
- Industry recognised qualifications
