The Apprenticeship Training Process
Your employees can commence an Apprenticeship or VQ at any time throughout the year with YouTrain. The duration of each award varies but is approximately 6 to 9 months for a Level 2 and 6 – 18 months for a Level 3.
Induction Process
The first step is for one of our assessor/trainers to meet with the candidate and their manager and carry out a detailed induction. This includes identifying previous experience and achievement and looking at the candidates job role, ensuring that each candidate is on the right type and level of award.
Building a Portfolio
Each candidate will take ownership of their “Portfolio of Evidence” which they will build up over their training period. They will gather evidence from the work which they are undertaking, enabling them to demonstrate their competence and ability.
YouTrain Digital Portfolio
Historically, portfolios have been paper based. But we have developed our own YouTrain Digital Portfolio, which enables candidates to create a virtual Portfolio of Evidence, upload evidence as and when suitable and have it reviewed quickly by the Trainer / Assessor.
On-going Support
We recommend that we work closely with all our clients to ensure a smooth and valued training experience for all.
On average, candidates meet with their assessor, in their workplace, every 3 – 4 weeks. For candidates using our Digital Portfolio, the number of face-to-face candidate-assessor appointments is reduced although we do not recommend that this replaces face-to-face meetings entirely.
We appreciate the need for flexibility and appreciate that employees work varying shift patterns. We endeavour at all times to provide the same level of support to all of our candidates and our assessors can meet candidates on back shifts or night shifts, as required.
Our vocational training package is dedicated to the development of each and every candidate, supported by the further training opportunities available. The excellence of our customer service ensures that the overall candidate experience presents a positive image of your company’s training commitment to your employees.
